| Friends’ Young Enterprise Team - Success at Local Trade Fair |
 |
F.A.M.E. (Friends' Association of Magnificent Enterprise), a Young Enterprise company, went to its first trade fair at Bloomfield Shopping Centre, Bangor on Friday 5th February. The company were ecstatic when they learned F.A.M.E had been awarded 'Best Product and Innovation Award’ at the South Eastern Regional Trade Fair.
After months of preparation, the fourteen Year 13 pupils came up with two projects for the big day. Whilst one team, managed by Managing Director Ross McComiskey, designed 'iPod skins' (a new idea brought to Bloomfield) the other team, managed by Company Secretary Robyn-Dee Herdman, designed and compiled 'A Toddle through Lisburn', a brochure guide for parents of under 3's about Lisburn as a baby-friendly city. Despite the 7am start, the company were ready to face any competition. After a full display had been set up, F.A.M.E got lots of questions about both products whilst trading took place. Whilst being judged, the company had to be ready for anything and so nerves were beginning to build as 2pm approached, when results were to be announced.
At present, the company are working on publishing the booklet and distribution around Easter, so they have all to work for. F.A.M.E. would like to thank Young Enterprise NI, Mrs A Bell, Miss L Coyle and Jim Cleland (Business Advisor) for their ongoing support and encouragement. |
